Russia launches over 50 missiles and 500 drones on Ukraine - Zelenskyy on night attack
On Sunday night, russia carried out one of the largest combined attacks on Ukraine, using drones and various types of missiles at the same time.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that the enemy launched over 50 missiles and about 500 strike drones, including Shaheds, cruise missiles and Kinzhals. Nine regions were under fire: Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Zaporizhzhia, Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson, Odesa and Kirovohrad.
"As of now, it is known about about 10 people who were injured in the attack. Unfortunately, five killed. My sincere condolences to all who lost their loved ones due to this terror," the head of state said.
Zelenskyy stressed that rescue and restoration work is ongoing in all affected regions. He receives operational reports from the heads of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Regional Development, regional military administrations and Naftogaz.
"Today, the russians again struck at our infrastructure, at everything that ensures a normal life for people. We need more protection, faster implementation of all defense agreements, especially regarding air defense, to make this air terror meaningless," the President emphasized.
He also called on the US and European countries to put more pressure on the Kremlin to force it to stop missile and drone attacks.
Lviv suffered the most: at about 04:30 am the city was attacked by drones, and later by missiles launched from the Black Sea. In the morning, Lviv was hit by aeroballistic missiles. Large-scale power outages were recorded in a number of regions due to the shelling: tens of thousands of people were left without electricity in Zaporizhzhia, Cherkasy Region was partially cut off, and critical facilities in the Ivano-Frankivsk Region were damaged.
Let us recall that powerful explosions were heard in Lviv: the city was attacked with Kinzhal missiles and drones.
