Russian army begins using horses in assault operations
The army of the aggressor country, russia, has begun to actively use horses on the front line. The occupiers are using horses in offensive operations to move assault troops to the positions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
This was reported the day before by russian propagandist Semyon Pegov.
The propagandist writes that the commander of the "Storm" detachment of the 9th separate motorized rifle brigade (the former 9th marine regiment of the "DPR" grouping) with the call sign "Khan" is "reviving" the cavalry.
According to the occupiers, the tactic of using horses was supposedly born from the "harsh reality of field conditions". The soldiers have to cover 10-15 kilometers on foot in the direction of the positions of the Ukrainian military. At the same time, each of them carries weapons, body armor and tens of kilograms of equipment. After moving on foot with such a load, there is no strength left for assault operations.
"The idea of "Khan" is simple and ingenious: the horse becomes a silent, passable and fast taxi for the assault group. It delivers fighters to the point of attack fresh and full of strength, and also ensures a quick departure and transportation of ammunition to places where equipment cannot pass," the propagandist writes.
Pegov published a video from the 9th brigade training ground. The video shows russian soldiers on horses.
According to the russian media Daily Storm, the idea of using cavalry in the war against Ukraine was positively assessed in the State Duma of the russian federation.
MP Andrey Kartapolov called the use of horses by the "second army of the world" in assault operations a "normal approach." According to him, all means are good. He also complained about critics of the russian army's use of animals in war, who allegedly "don't understand what is happening."
Horses are not the only animals that the russian occupiers have begun to use since the start of the full-scale invasion. Earlier this year, videos with donkeys and even camels were repeatedly published. The occupiers use animals to move ammunition and other cargo on the front line.
The reason for the use of animals is probably the massive use of unmanned aerial vehicles. Because of this, the russians have sharply reduced the use of armored vehicles, especially in assault operations, since tanks and other armored vehicles worth several million dollars are easily destroyed by cheap UAVs.
Against this background, the russian military has massively switched to civilian cars, motorcycles, ATVs, bicycles and even electric scooters.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, back in the spring of 2024 it became known that the russians are saving heavy armored vehicles, preferring to send soldiers on assaults on motorcycles and buggies.
