Zelenskyy awards title of Hero City of Ukraine to 16 more cities

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has awarded the honorary title of Hero City of Ukraine to 16 more cities in seven regions. Zelenskyy announced this on the Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"Today, on this Day of Defenders, on Pokrova [Feast of the Blessed Virgin Mary's Intercession - ed.], we celebrate more hero cities - cities of heroes. I signed a decree. Cities, thanks to which thousands of lives of our people have been saved. Cities that protect our entire state - in the full sense of these words," he said.

In particular, such a title was received by:

In the Dnipropetrovsk Region: Pavlohrad, Nikopol, Marhanets.

In the Donetsk Region: Druzhkivka, Kramatorsk, Kostiantynivka, Pokrovsk, Sloviansk.

In the Zaporizhzhia Region: Huliaipole and Orikhiv.

In the Mykolaiv Region: Voznesensk and Bashtanka.

In the Sumy Region: Sumy and Trostianets.

In the Kharkiv Region: Kupyansk.

In the Khmelnytskyi Region: Starokostiantyniv.

Thus, a total of 26 cities already have the title of hero city.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in March 2022, Zelenskyy established the honorary title Hero City of Ukraine and awarded it to Volnovakha, Hostomel, Mariupol, Kharkiv, Kherson and Chernihiv, Bucha, Irpin, Mykolaiv and Okhtyrka.
