Israeli Patriot complex protecting skies of Ukraine for month — Zelenskyy

The Israeli Patriot air defense system has been operating in Ukraine for about a month. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this during a briefing.

"The Israeli complex (Patriot. – Ed.) has been operating in Ukraine. It has been operating for a month," said the Head of State, answering questions about possible supplies of Patriot air defense systems in the context of negotiations with US President Donald Trump and reports of assistance from Israel and Germany.

Zelenskyy also said that Ukraine is expecting the arrival of two more Patriot systems in the fall, but did not specify from which countries they will be received. The President refused to comment on other details about the supply.

Recall, back in 2022, Ukraine officially turned to Israel with a request to transfer air defense systems to protect against Iranian ballistic missiles and strike drones.

Later it became known that Kyiv, Washington and Tel Aviv are negotiating the transfer of old Patriot batteries to Ukraine, which Israel decommissioned in April 2024 after more than 30 years of service. In May 2025, The New York Times wrote that one American Patriot system, previously located in Israel, was to be sent to Ukraine after repair.
