Health Ministry shows work on restoring Okhmatdyt after russian missile strike
Major repair work continues on the restoration of the building of the National Children's Specialized Hospital "Okhmatdyt" in Kyiv. Currently, facade and interior work is being carried out on the building, damaged by a missile strike by the aggressor country Russia on July 8, 2024.
This was reported by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.
About 30 employees of the contracting organization work at the site every day. The restoration covers facades, interior spaces and engineering systems.
Facade work: more than 2,260 sq m of old cladding was dismantled, 1,300 sq m of new brackets were installed, 1,090 sq m of the frame was insulated and equipped, 650 sq m of tiles were laid, 110 m of lighting cable was laid.
Internal renovation: in block B, more than 1,400 sq m of ceilings were replaced, drywall was updated, and more than 3,500 m of joints were sealed. 169 fixtures were installed. Painting work is underway. On several levels of block B, ventilation, fire safety, and low-voltage networks were installed in already renovated rooms.
Windows and interior renovation: new window blocks are being installed (15 new blocks and doors, 8 duplicate windows), slopes are being arranged.
In block D, workers are dismantling old structures and updating walls, ceilings, and slopes. Radiators, doors are being replaced, and new engineering networks are being laid.
Engineering networks are also being updated - water supply and heating. In addition, a subsystem for the facade, tiles, materials for interior work, windows, doors and cladding were delivered to continue the repair.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on July 8, 2024, the children's hospital Okhmatdyt in Kyiv was seriously damaged by russian shelling.
In early May 2025, the press service of the Kyiv children's hospital reported that all buildings and departments in Okhmatdyt had resumed work after the shelling on July 8, 2024.
At the same time, about UAH 1.6 billion were collected for the reconstruction of the National Children's Specialized Hospital Okhmatdyt.
