US makes first contribution to US-Ukrainian Investment Fund for Reconstruction - Svyrydenko
The US has made the first contribution to the US-Ukrainian Investment Fund for Reconstruction in the amount of USD 75 million. Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko announced this on the Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"The Investment Fund for Reconstruction begins its operational work - there is the first contribution! The US International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) has made an investment commitment to the US-Ukrainian Investment Fund for Reconstruction in the amount of USD 75 million, and Ukraine will double this contribution. Thus, we are forming the starting positions of the Investment Fund for Reconstruction from a total of USD 150 million. This is another important step in the process of launching the full-fledged work of the Fund, and from today we can declare: operational work has started," she said.
Svyrydenko noted that the first focus of the investment fund is on projects in the energy sector, infrastructure and the field of critical minerals.
"We aim to implement 3 projects by the end of 2026," the Prime Minister said.
She emphasized that the Fund is built on the principle of equality, Ukraine assumes the same financial obligations as the American side, this not only demonstrates Ukraine's responsibility, but also emphasizes that Ukraine views the Fund as a joint instrument of recovery and long-term cooperation.
"This starting capital has additional meaning for us: American investments can become a reliable guarantee of security for both Ukraine and American business in our country," Svyrydenko noted.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the draft state budget for 2026 provides for almost UAH 2 billion for the implementation of the agreement with the US on minerals.
The American-Ukrainian Investment Fund for the Reconstruction of Ukraine is considering titanium and zirconium deposits in the Kirovohrad Region as starting projects.
On May 8, the Verkhovna Rada ratified the agreement between the governments of Ukraine and the United States on the establishment of the American-Ukrainian Reconstruction Investment Fund (Minerals Agreement), concluded on April 30, 2025.
