Monetary base hits historic record in August, reaching UAH 1.13 trillion

In August, the monetary base, which includes cash in circulation outside banks, as well as bank reserve money and other money, according to the National Bank's operational data, grew by 0.7% to UAH 1,129.012 billion.

This is evidenced by data from the National Bank, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

Since the beginning of the year, the monetary base has grown by 7.3% from UAH 1,052.113 billion.

In August, the money supply increased by 0.4% to UAH 3,615.482 billion, and since the beginning of the year it has grown by 3.6% from UAH 3,488.377 billion.

The volume of cash in circulation, according to the NBU's operational data, increased by 1.3% in August to UAH 826.981 billion, and since the beginning of the year it has grown by 8.8% from UAH 759.753 billion.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in 2024, the monetary base grew by 7.7% from UAH 976.940 billion.

In 2023, the monetary base grew by 23.3% from UAH 792.537 billion.

In 2022, the monetary base grew by 19.6% from UAH 662.499 billion.

In 2021, the monetary base grew by 11.2% from UAH 595.993 billion to UAH 662.499 billion.
