Russians kill well-known farmer from Kherson Region with drone who shot down drones with rifle
Today, September 5, the russian occupiers killed a member of the Kherson Regional Council and a well-known farmer, Oleksandr Hordienko, who was "hunting" enemy drones with a rifle, with a drone attack.
The head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin, has reported this.
"I can't believe it. On Tuesday we were still talking at a joint meeting, and today I already received tragic news. In the morning, a Russian drone cut short the life of farmer Oleksandr Hordienko. The enemy insidiously attacked the car in which he was working in the field," the report says.
Prokudin said that Hordienko had over thirty years of experience in agriculture. He was the owner of the Hordienko farm and headed the regional association of farmers and private landowners.
"He was well known and respected in the Kherson Region. No mining, enemy shelling or attacks forced him to abandon his life's work. He remained on his native land until the last and worked for the Kherson Region. It is difficult to accept this loss. My sincere condolences to the family, loved ones and everyone who knew Oleksandr Hordienko. The Kherson Region has lost a person with a big soul," said Prokudin.
Earlier, the local publication Most reported on Oleksandr. The farmer told how he demined the farm on his own, took out animals, and also, as a hunter in the past, shot down enemy drones with a rifle.
Hordienko himself said that "the Russians already know him":
"The Russians already know me - I have my headlights on all the time, I drive through the field like this. On Easter, remember, there was a "truce"? And did you hear that a civilian car was hit then? So they found us."
