"Ketamine Queen" pleads guilty in Matthew Perry's fatal overdose case

A Los Angeles woman known as "Ketamine Queen" Jasveen Sangha has pleaded guilty to five federal charges in the 2023 fatal overdose death of "Friends" actor Matthew Perry.

This is reported by NBC.

Sangha, 42, pleaded guilty to one count of possession of a drug-related facility, three counts of distribution of ketamine, and one count of distribution of ketamine resulting in death or serious bodily harm.

Sangha, a dual U.S. and British citizen, has been in federal custody since August 2024. Her crimes carry a maximum sentence of 65 years in prison. Her sentencing hearing is scheduled for December 10.

On October 28, 2023, Perry was found dead in the swimming pool of his Los Angeles home. The medical examiner determined that the cause of death was an accidental overdose of ketamine, a hallucinogenic anesthetic that has gained popularity in recent years as an uncontrolled treatment for depression.

The actor spoke openly about his problems with drugs and alcohol, including in the 2022 book "Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing." Towards the end of his life, Perry underwent ketamine infusion therapy to treat depression and anxiety, but sought uncontrolled doses, which led to addiction and, ultimately, death.

According to prosecutors, Sangha sold Perry ketamine. In the month of his death alone, she and an accomplice sold him 51 vials, which the actor either injected himself or his assistant helped him to do it.

Recall, 43-year-old doctor Salvador Plasencia, one of the five defendants in the death of "Friends" star Matthew Perry, pleaded guilty to four counts of illegally distributing ketamine, a prescription anesthetic with hallucinogenic properties.
