New hangar for Ukrainian An-124 aircraft will appear at German airport

In order to be able to service its machines in its own hangar in the future, Antonov Logistics Salis GmbH is building a new service hangar in the north of the German airport "Leipzig/Halle".

The airport's press service announced this on its Facebook page, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

The report states that Leipzig/Halle airport has long been the home of Antonov Logistics Salis GmbH, a subsidiary of the Ukrainian state-owned company Antonov.

In 2022, at the beginning of a full-scale war, part of the airport infrastructure in Hostomel and the unique An-225 were destroyed.

Therefore, the An-124 fleet is actually based in Leipzig.

Recently, a sixth aircraft was transferred to Germany, which supplemented the company's active flotilla.

Antonov Logistics Salis GmbH, a subsidiary of the Antonov State Enterprise, was created to service cargo air transportation under the program of NATO countries.

In the future, the company will have the opportunity to service its vehicles in its own hangar, built on an area of about 24,000 sq. meters.
