August 29 declared Day of Mourning in Kyiv

August 29 has been declared a Day of Mourning in Kyiv in memory of the victims of today's massive attack by the military of the aggressor country, the russian federation, on the capital.

The city's mayor, Vitali Klitschko, announced this on his Telegram channel.

He noted that on this day, flags will be lowered on all municipal buildings in the city. It is also recommended to lower flags on buildings of state and private ownership.

In addition, any entertainment events will be prohibited in the capital on August 29.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as of 11:33 a.m., 14 people were known to have been killed as a result of the shelling, including 3 children. Another 38 people were injured. Emergency and rescue operations are ongoing at 5 locations in Darnytskyi, Desnianskyi and Shevchenkivskyi Districts.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on the night of August 28, russian invaders launched a massive combined strike on Kyiv. Significant damage was recorded in 7 districts of the city.

Currently, the rubble is being cleared in Kyiv after the night attack: rescuers are finding fragments of bodies.

Also, on the night of August 28, russian invaders targeted civilian passenger rolling stock. In particular, the Intercity+ high-speed train fleet was hit.
