Postponement of the celebration

However, the day of the celebration was decided to be changed, because on August 24, 1991, the Supreme Council of the Ukrainian SSR adopted a resolution on the proclamation of the independence of Ukraine, which entered into force immediately after its adoption, as well as the Act of Proclamation of the Independence of Ukraine, which on December 1, 1991 confirmed the will of the people in an all-Ukrainian referendum. "Taking into account the will of the Ukrainian people and their eternal desire for independence, confirming the historical significance of the adoption of the Act of Proclamation of Independence of Ukraine on August 24, 1991.
