Court seizes property of ex-Vice Prime Minister Chernyshov and his wife

The High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) has seized the property of former Vice Prime Minister Oleksii Chernyshov and his wife Svitlana.

The decision was made by the High Anti-Corruption Court, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

The decision was made on June 25, but on August 8, the Appeals Chamber of the HACC partially changed the decision and lifted the seizure of the securities of the private company "AM PROPERTY GROUP" LLC.

The following items remain under arrest: an apartment in Kyiv with a total area of 208.7 square meters; Chernyshov's funds in accounts with PrivatBank (UAH 2.83 million, EUR 1,646), OTP Bank (USD 992, UAH 82,000, CHF 46,274), Oschadbank (almost UAH 5 million), Sense Bank (UAH 15,624), the Austrian bank Erste Bank (EUR 101,000), 9,625 government bonds; money of Chernyshov's wife in accounts with PrivatBank (USD 3,320, UAH 2.5 million), OTP Bank (UAH 46,856), Erste Bank (EUR 3,455); an apartment in Kyiv with an area of 41.9 square meters; a Toyota car Land Cruiser 200 2020 model.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Chernyshov was left on bail of UAH 120 million. On June 23, Chernyshov was served with suspicion of abuse of office and obtaining illegal benefits in an especially large amount for himself and third parties. A bail of UAH 120 million was paid for Chernyshov. According to media reports, Chernyshov registered guards and servants at Naftogaz with salaries of UAH 300,000 each.
