Accused of Farion's murder may be released on parole in 11 years - lawyer
The lawyer for Iryna Farion's daughter, Natalia Romanyk, notes that the accused in the murder of professor, Vyacheslav Zinchenko, may be released on parole in 11 years.
The lawyer said this in an interview with the Ukrainian News Agency.
"If we talk about the mathematics of the appointment and serving of the sentence, then he may receive the opportunity to be released on parole in 11 years and 3 months," the lawyer said.
Also, according to her, Zinchenko may apply for the replacement of part of the unserved sentence, for example, to restriction of liberty, even earlier.
Such a scenario is possible if the sentence is not life imprisonment.
"Therefore, it is of fundamental importance that the court, in addition to resolving the issue of Zinchenko's guilt or innocence, establish the level of his danger to society," the lawyer emphasized.
