Ukraine and US preparing to launch 3 joint projects in field of subsoil use — Svyrydenko
Prime Minister of Ukraine Yuliia Svyrydenko reported that Ukraine, together with the United States of America, is preparing three joint initiatives in the extraction of minerals, which are planned to be implemented within the framework of a bilateral agreement on subsoil use within the next 18 months.
She wrote about this on Facebook after talks with US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent.
During the meeting, the parties also discussed the creation of the American-Ukrainian Reconstruction Investment Fund. The first meeting of the board of directors of this fund is scheduled to take place in September.
"We are working on expanding its mandate so that the fund can also invest in the defense sector. The task is to launch the first three projects within 18 months," Svyrydenko noted.
In addition, a significant part of the negotiations was devoted to issues of defense cooperation, including a possible agreement on the production and export of Ukrainian drones, initiated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, as well as the prospects for the purchase of American weapons.
"We also raised the issue of increasing sanctions pressure and cooperation with international financial organizations," the head of government added.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, President of the United States of America Donald Trump emphasized that he had concluded an economic agreement with Ukraine, which provides for access to land resources, and this agreement is of great importance for the economy and security of the United States.
