Pakistan rejects Zelenskyy's claim that its citizens are involved in war against Ukraine
Pakistan has said it rejects "baseless and unfounded allegations" of its citizens' involvement in the war of the aggressor state russia against Ukraine.
It was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan on August 5.
"The Government of Pakistan categorically rejects the baseless and unfounded allegations of the involvement of Pakistani nationals in the conflict in Ukraine. To date, Pakistan has not been formally approached by the Ukrainian authorities, nor has any verifiable evidence been presented to substantiate such claims," the statement said.
It is noted that the Pakistani government plans to discuss this issue with the Ukrainian authorities and seek clarification on this matter.
The Foreign Ministry added that Pakistan reaffirms its commitment to a peaceful resolution of the conflict in Ukraine through dialogue and diplomacy in accordance with the principles of the UN Charter.
As a reminder, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that citizens of China, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Pakistan, and some African countries are fighting on the side of the russian occupiers in the Vovchansk District of the Kharkiv Region.
