Unknown UAV destroyed in Belarus, it managed to fly to Minsk

The Belarusian military has intercepted an unknown unmanned aerial vehicle, which managed to fly to Minsk.

The Belarusian Defense Ministry reported this today, July 29.

"An unidentified aerial target <...> identified as a UAV was detected and its flight was terminated in the airspace of the Republic of Belarus," the message says.

The Belarusian military recorded the drones at around 2:00 a.m. At 2:33 a.m., it was suppressed by electronic warfare means.

The drone fell near a house on Matusevich Street, in the western part of Minsk.

The Belarusian Defense Ministry did not specify who could have launched the drone.

The department added that in connection with this incident, the military is taking additional measures to strengthen control over the use of airspace.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on July 28, the Security Service of Ukraine announced the detention of a resident of the Volyn Region, who was previously recruited by the State Security Committee of Belarus to track the movement of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

Recall, on July 10, an unknown drone flew into Lithuanian airspace from the Belarusian side. Because of this, Lithuanian government officials were forced to take cover.
