Ninth exchange under Istanbul agreements: wounded and seriously ill defenders returning home

Ukraine has already held the ninth stage of the prisoner exchange within the framework of the agreements reached in Istanbul. This time, seriously wounded and seriously ill soldiers are returning home, many of whom have spent more than three years in captivity.

It was announced by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

"We can already talk about the details - over all stages of the latest Istanbul agreements, we managed to return more than 1,000 of our people. For a thousand families, it is a joy to hug their loved ones again. Thank you to everyone who worked on this," Zelenskyy wrote.

According to him, today, servicemen who have been in captivity for more than three years are returning home. They will receive all the necessary assistance.

As a reminder, Zelenskyy said that in June this year, Ukraine and the aggressor country of the russian federation carried out eight rounds of prisoner exchanges. Hundreds of servicemen and civilians were returned home.
