US Army boasts of dropping grenade from UAV, but later deletes video after backlash

The US Army posted a video on its official social media pages showing a grenade being dropped from a drone. Within hours, the video had to be removed due to backlash from netizens.

This was reported by the Defense Express portal.

The corresponding post was published by the US Army's Twitter account X on July 22. The video was attached to a post that began with the phrase "Have you ever seen a drone drop a GRENADE?".

The video showed US Army servicemen dropping a grenade from a UAV for the first time in its history.

The post was deleted a few hours later. The reason was the comments of experts and ordinary users, who emphasized that dropping grenades or other ammunition from UAVs is not something surprising in 2025.

Drones have been actively used for such actions for several years. UAVs are used in russia's war against Ukraine, including until February 24, 2022, in the Israeli army operation in the Gaza Strip, as well as by the American military in the war against ISIS.

According to Defense Express, the events shown in the video took place in June of this year. Information about this can be found on the Joint Multinational Training Group-Ukraine Facebook page.

It is noteworthy that chevrons with inscriptions in Ukrainian can be seen on the participants of the American army's "experiment".

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on July 18, the Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov stated that Ukraine had achieved positive results in the production of interceptor drones to combat the invaders' UAVs.

And in early July, it became known that the Ukrainian Defense Forces probably attacked a russian army position for the first time, using only UAVs and ground drones. During the operation, they managed to take prisoners.
