Almost third of russian coal industry stopped working or on verge of stopping

The coal industry of the aggressor country russia is experiencing a critical situation - more than 50 enterprises have stopped working or are on the verge of stopping.

According to the russian agency RBC, the Deputy Minister of Energy of the russian federation Dmitry Islamov stated this.

"In the so-called red zone, these are enterprises that are stopped or on the verge of stopping, there are currently 51 enterprises, that is, mines and cuttings," Islamov said.

According to RBC, from January to March of this year, the losses of the russian coal industry amounted to RUB 112 billion.

At the same time, experts suggest that the net loss of coal companies based on the results of this year could be from RUB 300 to 350 billion.

It is reported that about 180 coal companies are currently operating in the russian federation. Small and medium-sized enterprises engaged in the production of thermal coal are in the most difficult situation. Their income has fallen due to a sharp decrease in coal exports to the European Union.

After the EU countries stopped buying russian coal, companies from the russian federation were forced to reorient themselves to the markets of China, India and Turkey. However, coal sellers in these countries are forced to "regain their place in the sun and play with prices".

In order to somehow stabilize the situation, the russian government approved a number of measures to support coal enterprises. As of early July, at least 73 companies had applied for help.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in early July, the media wrote that due to the loss of the European market, 50 million tons of unnecessary coal had accumulated in russian ports.

Recall that at the end of June, the Foreign Intelligence Service (FIS) of Ukraine stated that two-thirds of the russian economy was stagnating. The oil refining, construction, coal and automotive industries are suffering the most.
