Naftogaz Group launches new high-flow well with daily output of 383,000 cubic meters of gas

Ukrgasvydobuvannya, part of the Naftogaz Group, has launched a new high-flow exploration well, with a daily output of 383,000 cubic meters of natural gas.

This is announced in a statement by Naftogaz, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

The statement says that the well is inclined, with a depth of almost 5.7 km.

All work - from drilling to launch - was completed a month and a half ahead of schedule.

"This result is a joint merit of all divisions of Ukrgasvydobuvannya, which were involved in the design, drilling and development. I thank everyone who worked on this well. Step by step, we are strengthening our own production and enhancing the energy stability of the country," said Serhii Koretskyi, chairman of the board of Naftogaz of Ukraine.

It is noted that currently two more exploration wells are being drilled at the same field, and drilling of three more is planned to begin in the near future.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, drillers of Ukrgasvydobuvannya JSC, part of the Naftogaz group, set a new record for penetration - 107,136 meters in the first quarter of 2025, which is almost twice as much as in the same period last year, and exceeds the previous quarterly maximum recorded in the third quarter of 2024 (102,866 m).

In 2024, Ukrgasvydobuvannya increased its production of commercial gas by 5.3%, or 0.7 billion cubic meters, to 13.9 billion cubic meters.

Ukrgasvydobuvannya is the largest gas producer in Ukraine, 100% of the company's shares belong to Naftogaz.
