What an irony: today, Chinese component was discovered in Shahed, and on the eve, Chinese Consulate General building was damaged in russian attack – Sybiha

After today's massive russian air attack on Ukraine, in Kyiv, a component of the russian-Iranian Shahed combat drone recently manufactured in China was discovered, and the day before, the building of the Chinese Consulate General in Odessa was damaged as a result of russian strikes on the city.

Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha announced this on X, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

"What an irony. Following tonight's massive Russian air attack on Ukraine, we discovered in Kyiv a component of a Russian-Iranian "Shahed-136"/"Geran-2" combat drone, which was made in China and supplied just recently. And right on the eve, the Chinese Consulate General's building in Odesa suffered minor damage as a result of Russian strikes on the city," he said.

Sybiha noted that this demonstrates how russian dictator putin continues to escalate his war and terror, involving others, including North Korean troops, Iranian weapons and some Chinese manufacturers.

The Minister stressed that security in Europe, the Middle East and the Indo-Pacific region are inextricably linked, and countering russian aggression and terror in Europe directly contributes to strengthening security in the Middle East and the Indo-Pacific region.

Sybiha noted that Ukraine calls on the United States and the international community to increase pressure on both the regime in moscow and its military budget, as well as on everyone else in the world who supports russia's war effort and allows putin to continue killing people in Ukraine.

The Security Service of Ukraine reported that it had discovered components manufactured in the People's Republic of China in the Geran UAV (the russian version of the Shahed drone). This is evidenced by the marking of the manufacturer Suzhou Ecod Precision Manufacturing Co., Ltd on the relevant parts. These components, in particular the mounts for the launch catapult, were removed from the drones with which the russian occupiers attacked the Ukrainian capital on the night of July 3-4.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on the night of July 4, russian troops carried out a massive air attack on Ukraine, launching 550 weapons of mass destruction, the main direction of the strike was the capital, Kyiv.
