Judge refuses to remove Chernyshov from office

The High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) has refused to grant the petition to remove Oleksii Chernyshov from the post of Vice Prime Minister - Minister of National Unity of Ukraine.

This decision was made by the High Anti-Corruption Court, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

On Tuesday, July 2, the investigating judge of the High Anti-Corruption Court, having considered the petition to remove the Vice Prime Minister - Minister of National Unity of Ukraine from office, refused to grant it.

The full text of the decision will be announced on July 4, 2025. The reasons that guided the investigating judge of the High Anti-Corruption Court will be set out in the full text of the decision. The decision can be appealed within 5 days from the moment of its announcement.

We will remind, earlier the High Anti-Corruption Court applied a preventive measure to the suspect in the form of a bail in the amount of UAH 120,002,668 with the imposition of a number of procedural obligations.

According to Part 1 of Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until his guilt is proven in accordance with the law and established by a court verdict of guilty.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on June 23, Chernyshov was informed of suspicion of abuse of office and obtaining illegal benefits in an especially large amount for himself and third parties. On June 16, Chernyshov reported that he was on an official visit to Austria. On June 18, journalist Mykhailo Tkach stated that Chernyshov had not returned from a foreign business trip.
