Ukraine received USD 500 million from IMF - Shmyhal

Ukraine received the ninth tranche from the International Monetary Fund in the amount of about USD 500 million within the framework of the four-year Extended Fund Facility (EFF) program to cover priority budget needs. Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced this on the Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"Ukraine received the ninth tranche from the International Monetary Fund - USD 500 million - to cover priority budget needs," he said.

He noted that this is the result of the eighth review of the EFF cooperation program.

So far, the Fund has already allocated USD 10.6 billion to Ukraine within the framework of the program.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on June 30, the Executive Board of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) completed the eighth review of the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) program with Ukraine.

At the end of March, the state budget of Ukraine received about USD 400 million of the next tranche of the IMF.

In 2025, it is planned to attract USD 2.7 billion from the IMF based on the results of four quarterly reviews.

On March 31, 2023, the IMF Executive Board approved a four-year program under the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) for Ukraine with financing in the amount of about USD 15.5 billion (SDR 11.6 billion).

The program is part of a package of international support for Ukraine, which currently amounts to about USD 152.9 billion for 2023-2027.

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the International Monetary Fund has been the third largest provider of financial assistance to Ukraine, after the European Union and the United States.
