Harvesting begins in Ukraine

Ukrainian farmers have begun harvesting.

This is stated in a message of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

The message states that as of June 27, 74,300 hectares were threshed and 188,100 tons of early grain and legume crops were harvested.

In particular: wheat - threshed 10,500 hectares, harvested – 22,400 tons; barley - threshed 55,400 hectares, harvested – 151,600 tons; peas - threshed 8,400 hectares, harvested – 14,200 tons.

The leader in the harvest of grain and legume crops is the Odesa Region.

In total, three regions have begun harvesting: Odesa – 45,800 hectares were threshed, 132,300 tons were harvested; Mykolaiv – 19,000 hectares were threshed, 43,700 tons were harvested and Dnipropetrovsk – 3,800 hectares were threshed, 8,300 tons were harvested.

Agricultural producers of the Mykolaiv and Odesa Regions have begun harvesting rapeseed, which has been threshed on an area of ​​4,200 hectares.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, as of June 6, 2025, farmers in all regions of Ukraine had sown 5.6 million hectares of spring grain and legume crops and had actually completed the spring sowing campaign.

For 2025, farmers planned to sow over 5.7 million hectares of spring grain and legume crops, which corresponds to the level of 2024.

The main feature of the new season was the increase in the area under spring wheat to 227,500 hectares.
