The administration of US President Donald Trump is expecting a possible strike by Iran in response to strikes on its nuclear facilities. This is reported by NBC News.
Two US officials from the Department of Defense and the White House say that the Trump administration is preparing for a potential "retaliatory strike" from Iran and this is of particular concern.
The sources of the publication also note that it remains unclear whether any retaliatory measures will be aimed at foreign or domestic facilities, or both.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said that his country "reserves all options" for responding to an attack on its nuclear facilities by the United States.
"The events of this morning are outrageous and will have inevitable consequences," he said in a statement on X.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on the night of June 22, US President Donald Trump announced the task of the US military to carry out airstrikes on three key Iranian nuclear facilities - in Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan.
Trump declared the complete destruction of Iran's nuclear facilities and threatened even more powerful strikes in case of resistance.
The US does not reject the scenario of using tactical nuclear weapons against Iran.
Iran announced that it would not participate in the negotiations with the United States on its nuclear program scheduled for June 15. The reason for this decision was the recent Israeli strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities.
