US deploys additional military forces to Middle East amid Israeli attack on Iran — AP
The United States is deploying military forces to the Middle East amid today's large-scale Israeli attack on Iran.
The Associated Press reported this, citing its own sources.
Unnamed US officials told the AP that the US leadership has decided to deploy additional military resources due to the threat of a possible Iranian attack on Israel.
It is reported that the guided-missile destroyer Thomas Hudner (DDG-116) has been sent to the eastern Mediterranean Sea.
Another destroyer has also been ordered to the region so that it can be ready to act at the request of the White House.
One of the AP interlocutors said that US President Donald Trump held a meeting with the heads of the National Security Council to discuss the situation between Israel and Iran.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on the night of June 12-13, the Israeli army launched strikes on Iran. The targets were military and nuclear infrastructure facilities.
Later, it became known that Iran refused to negotiate over the fate of its nuclear program after the Israeli attack.
As a reminder, Ukraine has urged its citizens to refrain from traveling to six Middle Eastern countries due to the escalation between Israel and Iran.
