Thanks to Bukovel, the Polianytsia community has recorded its highest-ever tourist tax revenues – community head
In the Polianytsia community of the Ivano-Frankivsk region, nearly UAH 16 million in tourist tax was collected in the first five months of 2025 — a record-breaking figure, which constitutes 67% of the total amount and is 67% higher than last year. According to Mykola Polyak, Head of the Polianytsia community, this is largely due to the activity of the Bukovel ski resort, which is constantly expanding and supporting the development of the local tourism-oriented businesses.
"Bukovel continues to evolve, implementing new high-quality and eco-friendly standards, which results in a steady increase in visitor numbers each year. At the same time, the resort actively supports the growth of local businesses, nearly all of which are directly or indirectly involved in tourism — accommodation, leisure activities, equipment rental, food services, etc. As a result, our community maintains an exceptionally low unemployment rate — just 2.4%, and tax revenues continue to grow steadily. Meanwhile, the environmental situation is also improving: Bukovel has upgraded its water treatment and sewage systems, minimized plastic use, introduced advanced waste sorting and recycling technologies, and is actively promoting ecotourism in the region," said Mykola Polyak.
Additionally, as noted by Bohdan Krasavtsev, Head of Bukovel’s Office of Sustainable Development, these economic indicators also enable support for military personnel and their families. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, over 22,000 Ukrainian service members and their families have received rehabilitation and recovery services at Bukovel as part of a joint program with the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"Supporting the military is a sign of a mission-driven business. For Bukovel, the program helping Ukrainian defenders and their families is one of our most important social initiatives. To date, we have already organized free holidays for more than 22,000 Ukrainian soldiers and their families," said Bohdan Krasavtsev.
