Volunteers will be able to shoot down enemy UAVs. Cabinet launches pilot project

The Cabinet of Ministers is launching a pilot project that involves volunteer formations of territorial communities in air defense. The initiative is aimed at strengthening the protection of settlements from attacks by russian drones.

Member of Parliament Oleksii Honcharenko reported this on his Telegram channel.

Who can join a group?

• Members of voluntary formations of territorial communities
• Persons not subject to mobilization
• Those who have undergone training and have a certificate (for UAVs)

What can air defense groups do?

• Detect, accompany and shoot down air threats
• Use drones, aircraft, personal weapons
• Receive equipment, weapons, ammunition from the Armed Forces
• Use their own cars and equipment

What is the subordination?

• Organizational - Territorial Defense Forces
• Operational - Air Forces Command of the Armed Forces

Financial support is up to UAH 100,000/month (proportionate to participation) - from local budgets. The project is valid for the duration of martial law, but no more than 2 years.
