Inflation in May was 1.3%

In May 2025, consumer prices increased by 1.3%.

This was announced by the State Statistics Service, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

Including, prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages in May increased by 2.8%, for clothing and footwear – decreased by 1.9%, for housing and communal services – increased by 0.1%, for services related to healthcare – increased by 0.6%, for education – increased by 0.1%.

Compared to May 2024, in May 2025, consumer prices increased by 15.9%.

In January-May 2025, inflation was 5.6%.

In May 2025, the core consumer price index increased by 0.5%.

In January-May 2025, the core consumer price index increased by 4.4%.

Core inflation is a subindex of the consumer price index.

Core CPI (core inflation) is a part of inflation that reflects the dynamics of free prices without taking into account items whose prices are affected by administrative and seasonal factors.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in April, inflation was 0.7%, core inflation was 0.4%.

In 2024, inflation was recorded at 12.0%, in 2023 - inflation at 5.1%, in 2022 - inflation at 26.6%, in 2021 - inflation at 10.0%, in 2020 - inflation at 5.0%.

In 2024, core inflation was 10.7%.

The state budget for 2025 foresees an increase in consumer prices (December to December of the previous year) of 9.5%.
