Musk and Trump Secretary brawl during White House argument - Washington Post

Billionaire Elon Musk and US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent got into a fight at the White House in April this year over a dispute over the appointment of the head of the Internal Revenue Service.

According to The Washington Post, former Donald Trump adviser Stephen K. Bannon referred to the incident.

According to Bannon, the conflict arose after a meeting in the Oval Office, during which Donald Trump supported the candidacy proposed by Bessent, despite Musk's objections. After leaving the office, a verbal exchange broke out between Musk and the minister. Bessent reminded Musk of his promise to find a trillion dollars in ineffective government spending, stating that he had not done so, and called the billionaire a "fraud".

After that, according to Bannon, Musk punched Bessent in the chest - "like a rugby player", to which he responded. They had to be separated by the audience. Eventually, Musk was escorted out of the West Wing.

“President Trump heard about it and said, ‘This is too much,’” Bannon said.

This week, the conflict between Musk and Trump became public. On Thursday, the US President said that he would have won the election without Musk, adding that he no longer wanted to communicate with him and “didn’t even think” about him.

In response, Musk published a series of posts on the X platform, claiming that without his support, Trump would not have won, and criticized the president’s budget bill, which, according to him, only increases the deficit.

In turn, Trump wrote that Musk was “on the edge” at one point and “he just went crazy!” There was also information that Trump was allegedly considering selling his Tesla.
