Defense Forces attack russian Savasleyka airfield. 2 aircraft hit, presumably MIG-31 and SU-30/34
On the night of Monday, June 9, units of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in cooperation with other components of the Defense Forces of Ukraine, struck the Savasleyka airfield, which is located in the Nizhny Novgorod Oblast of the aggressor country of the russian federation. Two aircraft were hit. This is stated in the message of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The General Staff said that the enemy uses this airfield for strikes on the territory of Ukraine. In particular, MiG-31K fighters, which are carriers of Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles, regularly take off from it.
According to preliminary information, as a result of today's strike by the Defense Forces, two units of enemy aviation equipment were hit (probably MiG-31 and Su-30/34 aircraft).
"The results of the combat work are being clarified," the General Staff added.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on June 1, the Security Service of Ukraine conducted a unique special operation, as a result of which four strategic air bases in russia were hit: Olenya, Ivanovo, Dyagilevo and Belaya. According to the head of the SSU, Vasyl Maliuk, who personally led the operation, more than 40 russian strategic aircraft were hit.
The SSU reported that as a result of these actions, about 34% of russian cruise missile carriers were disabled, which is estimated at approximately USD 7 billion.
