Ukraine and the US are working on projects in the field of graphite, lithium, titanium within the framework of the American-Ukrainian Reconstruction Investment Fund. First Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Economy Yuliia Svyrydenko announced this on Facebook, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

In particular, Svyrydenko spoke about the meeting with US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent regarding the launch of the first projects of the American-Ukrainian Reconstruction Investment Fund and investor protection instruments.

"We have specifics. We are currently working on projects in the field of graphite, lithium, titanium. It is in such projects that partnership with the US can be mutually beneficial," she said.

Svyrydenko noted that it is planned to hold the first meeting of the Fund's board of directors this summer — at the end of July, which will be an important moment for launching the operational part of the work: approving committees, procedures, and principles for selecting projects.

Separately, the Ukrainian side proposed expanding the Fund's investment mandate.

"Support for Ukrainian companies, in particular in the defense industry. There is a positive reaction from the US, there is openness to this direction," the Deputy Prime Minister said.

Another topic of the negotiations was the expansion of military risk insurance. Svyrydenko noted that American companies are ready to invest, but guarantees are needed.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on June 3, a Ukrainian delegation led by First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Yuliia Svyrydenko arrived in Washington (US) to discuss the mineral agreement, tightening sanctions against the aggressor country russia, and defense support for Ukraine.

On May 23, Svyrydenko reported that Ukraine and the United States had completed all procedures for launching the American-Ukrainian Reconstruction Investment Fund (minerals agreement).
