At night, RF attacked bioethanol plant in Sumy Region, experts assessing environmental consequences of fire
In the Sumy Region, russian troops struck a plant producing bioethanol, a large-scale fire broke out at the plant, tanks were damaged, and molasses spilled. This was reported by the Sumy Regional Military Administration.
Experts are currently assessing the environmental consequences of the russian strike and the fire, and the final extent of the damage is being clarified.
"Preliminarily, there are 12 UAVs hit. The drones hit the enterprise in the village of community. As a result of the strikes, a fire broke out. It was a bioethanol plant. Tanks were damaged, molasses spilled," the Regional Military Administration report says.
It is also reported that about 10 private houses were damaged as a result of the strike, but there are no victims.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, russian troops are trying to gain a foothold in the Yunakivska and Khotynska communities of the Sumy Region, where the most intense fighting is currently taking place.
Bezuhla called on residents of frontline communities in the Sumy Region to evacuate.
On the morning of Tuesday, June 3, the russian army shelled Sumy using multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS). Residential buildings and streets in the city center were hit.
