Satellite images confirm consequences of SSU drone attack on Belaya airfield: strategic bombers damaged
Fresh satellite images from the Irkutsk Oblast have captured the consequences of a large-scale Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) special operation, which attacked the russian military airfield Belaya. The images confirm damage to several strategic bombers after the strike by Ukrainian UAVs on June 1.
The photos were published by Radio Liberty's "Schemes" project.
Satellite images taken by Planet Labs on June 4 confirmed the consequences of the attack by Ukrainian drones on the Belaya military airfield in the Irkutsk Oblast of russia. The photos show damage to at least seven aircraft: three Tu-95s and four Tu-22M3s. Traces of fires are also visible on the territory of the facility.
On the afternoon of June 1, the Security Service of Ukraine carried out a large-scale operation involving FPV drones, which were delivered to the territory of the russian federation in advance. According to the SSU and the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, 41 russian aircraft were destroyed as a result of the attack. The special operation called Spider Web was prepared for a year and a half.
On June 1, the SSU stated that the estimated cost of the destroyed and damaged aircraft is USD 7 billion.
On June 3, the head of the communications department of the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Yurii Ihnat, stated that the russian terrorist troops, due to the SSU operation Spider Web, will not be able to carry out terrorist attacks on Ukraine for a long time.
