In Sumy Region, russians trying to gain foothold in territory of Khotynska and Yunakivska communities - Regional Military Administration

Russian troops are trying to gain a foothold in the territory of the Yunakivska and Khotynska communities of the Sumy Region, where the most intense fighting is currently underway. This was reported by the head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, Oleh Hryhorov, following the meeting of the regional Defense Council on June 3.

It is reported that the occupiers are operating in small groups, trying to gain a foothold in settlements and are constantly shelling residential buildings and farms.

"The most intense fighting is in the areas of the Yunakivska and Khotynska communities, where the enemy is trying to operate in small groups and gain a foothold," Hryhorov specified.

The Regional Military Administration noted that the civilian population from these communities was evacuated long ago, and currently units of Ukrainian troops are holding the lines, disrupting all attempts by the russian occupiers to advance.

It is noted that the meeting discussed the situation on the border and in communities, and also identified priority tasks for strengthening defense.

The head of the Regional Military Administration emphasized that over the past two weeks, the russians have dropped almost 200 guided aerial bombs on the Sumy Region and recalled that evacuation is underway to protect civilians. Over the past day, 113 residents from the Sumy and Shostka districts have been evacuated.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Bezuhla called on residents of front-line communities in the Sumy Region to evacuate.

On the morning of June 3, russian occupiers attacked the center of Sumy, targeting cars. One person is known to have been killed, and many are injured.
