Ukraine's attack on russian airfields shows that Kyiv successfully defending itself - Danish Prime Minister
Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen said that Ukraine's attack on russian airfields shows that Kyiv is successfully defending itself.
This was reported by Reuters.
"I believe they (Ukraine) have the right to defend themselves, and sometimes that includes counterattacks - it seems that this one was successful," Frederiksen said when asked to comment on Ukraine's attack.
At a meeting of leaders of the Nordic, Baltic and Eastern European countries in the Lithuanian capital, Frederiksen also said on Monday that it was extremely important to focus on rearmament in Europe.
"Russia is a threat to all of us, so we must strengthen our eastern flank... We must continue to seek a ceasefire, but at the same time we must do everything necessary on the battlefield in Ukraine so that they can win this war," she said.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW) noted that Ukraine's operation on June 1 to destroy strategic russian aircraft could limit the russian federation's ability to conduct strikes and would also force russian officials to consider the possibility of redistributing russian air defense systems.
On June 1, the Security Service of Ukraine conducted a large-scale special operation to destroy enemy bombers in the rear of the aggressor country of the russian federation.
As part of the special operation Spider Web, the Security Service of Ukraine also tried to attack the Ukrainka military air base in the Amur Oblast of the aggressor country of russia, but this attack was foiled.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that thanks to the special operation of the SSU on the airfields of the aggressor country of russia, 34% of strategic cruise missile carriers were hit. Ukraine used 117 drones for this.
