Zaporizhzhia NPP operation depends on a single power transmission line, before russian invasion there were ten of them – IAEA

The Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, occupied by the aggressor country russia, today depends on a single power transmission line. Before the full-scale invasion of the russian federation, there were ten such lines.

This is stated in the report of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

"The largest facility in Europe currently depends on a single power transmission line, which ensures the performance of basic nuclear safety functions, while before the start of the military conflict there were ten such lines," the report says.

The IAEA also stated that the last reserve power transmission line of the Zaporizhzhia NPP, 330 kV, has been disconnected for three weeks. Agency representatives do not know when it will be restored.

Because of this, the largest nuclear power plant on the continent is completely dependent on the last operating 750 kV line for external power supply.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on May 29, Reuters wrote, citing an unnamed IAEA representative, that the agency sees no signs that the russians want to restart the Zaporizhzhia NPP.

Recall that the day before, the Greenpeace organization published a report stating that the russians are building a power transmission line to the Zaporizhzhia NPP to connect it to their energy system.
