Note with new control algorithm "discovered" in russian drone: Telegram bots and autonomous AI instead of GPS
The media claim that a note was found in one of the kamikaze drones with which russia attacked Kyiv, which allegedly discussed a new drone control algorithm.
This is reported by The Economist.
It is alleged that the note was left by one of the russian engineers. It stated that the drones are now controlled using bots in Telegram. The drones constantly send video to operators, and they control the Shaheds. It was also noted that the new drones are not affected by electronic warfare.
Recently, russia has stopped using GPS, and has switched to artificial intelligence and the Ukrainian mobile network.
The Economist refers to a comment by the officer of the command of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Colonel Denys Smazhenyi, who spoke about the hunt for the Shaheds. Previously, drones shot down mobile groups with machine guns, portable missiles and short-range artillery. However, guided drones have learned to fly around these groups.
According to Smazhenyi, at first the drones fly low to avoid detection, and then rise sharply to 2,000-2,500 meters, which is out of reach of small-caliber weapons.
Therefore, Ukraine is currently using helicopters, F-16 fighters and interceptor drones to combat russian drones.
According to Smazhenyi, air defense around Kyiv shoots down about 95% of the aggressor country's drones, but the rest cause serious damage.
The NSDC's Center for Countering Disinformation did not believe the story about the note in the Shahed and added that cameras on kamikaze drones are not new to the Ukrainian military.
"The story about the "notes in the Shaheds" and control via Telegram bots is certainly something. As for remote control, some Shaheds have been controlled this way since last year, cameras were installed on them and controlled remotely. No sensation - they are being shot down," said the head of the Center, Andrii Kovalenko.
We will remind you that on the night of Monday, May 26, the aggressor country russia used the largest number of drones against Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale war - 355 strike drones.
