The largest prisoner exchange in the format of "thousand for a thousand" may take place next week.
Kyrylo Budanov, the head of the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, announced this, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
The head of the Defense Intelligence noted that he does not see any special obstacles to the exchange "1000 for 1000".
Speaking about the lists of prisoners who will be released from russian captivity, Budanov said that they will take everyone they can, and the same applies to the extradition of russian prisoners.
The agreement on the exchange of 1000 prisoners of war from the Ukrainian and russian sides was reached at negotiations between Ukraine and russia in Istanbul, Turkey, on May 16.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on May 6, Ukraine returned another 205 defenders from russian captivity.
This exchange was the fifth this year and the 64th since the start of russia's full-scale invasion.
