Former NSDC Deputy Secretary Oleh Hladkovskyi detained in Spain

Today, May 14, the former First Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC) was detained in Spain, who is accused of causing losses to the state in the total amount of UAH 17.44 million.

This is stated in the message of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SACPO).

According to the Ukrainian News agency’s sources in law enforcement agencies, this is Oleh Hladkovskyi.

Currently, the issue of his extradition to Ukraine is being resolved.

As noted in the SACPO, during the pre-trial investigation it was established that Hladkovskyi used the power and official position granted to him in order to obtain an unlawful benefit from the structure in which he and his close associates have a share of ownership, namely PJSC "Automobile Company "Bogdan Motors".

In October 2019, Hladkovskyi was informed of the suspicion of committing a crime under Part 2 of Article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

On July 2, 2021, the indictment in the case was sent to the Supreme Court of Criminal Appeals for consideration on the merits.

In November 2023, Hladkovskyi left Ukraine. And already in April 2024, the panel of judges of the Supreme Court of Criminal Appeals granted the request of the SACPO prosecutor and put him on the wanted list.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in May 2024, the court arrested Oleh Hladkovskyi in absentia, who, together with the former Deputy Minister of Defense and Director of department of the Ministry of Defense is accused of causing losses to the state in the total amount of UAH 17.44 million.
