Before possible peace talks in Istanbul, russia attacks Ukraine with Iskander and 145 drones
On the night of May 14, the army of the aggressor country, the russian federation, attacked Ukraine with an Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missile and 145 Shahed strike UAVs and various types of simulator drones. Air defense shot down 80 enemy drones, the Air Forces Command wrote on Telegram.
It is reported that as of 9:00 a.m., the shooting down of 80 Shahed strike UAVs and other types of drones in the east, north, west and center of the country was confirmed.
42 enemy simulator drones were lost in location (without negative consequences).
The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units and mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
The Sumy, Kharkiv, Odesa, Donetsk and Kirovohrad Regions were affected by the enemy attack.
As a reminder, on May 11, russian dictator vladimir putin publicly stated russia's alleged readiness for bilateral talks with Ukraine. He proposed holding them in Turkey this Thursday, May 15.
Zelenskyy said that he would personally wait for putin for bilateral talks.
In addition, Trump admitted that he may visit Turkey on May 15 to participate in the talks between Zelenskyy and putin.
