Demilitarized zone and troop withdrawal. Kellogg announces new US plan to freeze war

US Special Envoy to Ukraine and russia Keith Kellogg announced a new initiative by Washington to stop hostilities. This involves the creation of a demilitarized zone along the front line, which should be controlled by both sides.

Kellogg said this on Fox News.

He suggested that the war could be temporarily stopped at current positions, and a buffer zone created along the front line.

According to the Special Envoy, Ukrainian and russian troops could withdraw 15 kilometers deep into their territories from the contact line.

"This will be a 30-kilometer zone that can be controlled," Kellogg said.

He also noted that if Moscow agrees, US President Donald Trump will be able to implement this plan.

Separately, Kellogg mentioned the initiative of European countries to introduce a peacekeeping contingent: according to him, the troops are planned to be deployed only on the right bank of the Dnieper.

Recall that Trump wants to use the subsoil agreement with Ukraine as a tool for pressure on russia.
