Energy Ministry declares that price of electricity for population will not change
The Cabinet of Ministers has extended the Regulation on imposing special obligations on electricity market participants to ensure general public interests in the functioning of the electricity market until October 31, 2025. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Energy.
"Therefore, the single fixed price for electricity for individual and collective household consumers remains at the level of 4.32 UAH/kWh," the message says.
The "night tariff" for consumers with dual-zone meters, at 2.16 UAH per kWh, also remains in effect.
According to Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko, the government has decided to keep the electricity tariff for the population unchanged in order to ensure the availability of electricity for consumers.
"We survived a difficult winter and intense enemy shelling, which destroyed and damaged about 10 GW of generating capacity. Energy workers continue large-scale restoration and repair work throughout the country," he noted.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Cabinet of Ministers increased the electricity tariff for the population by 63.6%, from 2.64 to 4.32 UAH/kWh from June 2024, it was supposed to be in effect until April 30, 2025.
