RF General Staff General Moskalik blown up in Moscow Oblast

Russian General Yaroslav Moskalik was killed in a Volkswagen Golf car explosion in the Moscow Oblast city of Balashikha. The man died on the spot.

This was reported by the russian Telegram channels Baza and Mash.

The explosion occurred in the Aviatorov neighborhood, which was built for the military.

The deceased was Major General Yaroslav Moskalik, deputy head of the Main Operations Directorate of the General Staff of the russian armed forces. The blast wave threw the man's body several meters away. He died from his injuries.

According to one version, the car contained an explosive device that went off when a person passed by. Initially, it was reported that it was a random passerby. But later it turned out that the deceased was a high-ranking military official. According to another version, the cause of the explosion was faulty gas cylinder equipment.

The russian Investigative Committee has already announced the start of an investigation into the explosion. In this regard, a criminal case was opened.

As the Msk1 publication writes, many military personnel really live in the neighborhood where the explosion occurred.

"These are 16 buildings from the Ministry of Defense, there are apartments for military personnel. And in general, initially this entire neighborhood was built for them. Some of them are already civilians, but their families still live here. We have those who returned from Syria, Chechnya, Afghanistan, SVO [special military operation, as they call war with Ukraine in russia - ed.]. There are astronauts here and even the commander of the ISS," explained a local resident.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the nightly undermining of the head of the radiation, chemical and biological protection troops of the russian armed forces, Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov, is a special operation by the SSU.

According to our sources, the scooter with explosives was blown up when Kirillov and his assistant entered the entrance of a house on Ryazansky Avenue in Moscow. Earlier, the Security Service announced suspicion of Kirillov for the mass use of banned chemical weapons against the Defense Forces in the east and south of Ukraine.
