US proposes to recognize Crimea as russian and freeze front: media learn details of peace plan at talks in London

At a meeting in London on April 23, US representatives plan to discuss with Ukrainian and European officials a peace agreement that would recognize Crimea as russian and a ceasefire along the current front line.

The Washington Post reports this, citing its own sources.

According to the publication, at a previous meeting in Paris on April 17, the Ukrainian delegation was given a confidential document with US proposals for resolving the russian-Ukrainian war. The document, in particular, provides for a freeze of hostilities at current positions and the lifting of sanctions against russia in exchange for its cessation of hostilities.

The sources note that russia currently has an advantage on the battlefield in terms of the number of troops and weapons.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the day before that a new round of ceasefire talks involving Ukraine, the United States, and European countries will take place in London on April 23.

Meanwhile, Kyiv is not discussing with its partners the issue of the cession of Crimea or other territories occupied by the aggressor country russia, as this contradicts the Constitution of Ukraine.
