Trump begun to "give back": exempted smartphones, computers and chips from tariffs
Smartphones, computers and other electronics will be exempt from the tariffs introduced by Trump.
This is stated in the order of the US Customs and Border Protection, the portal of the broadcaster CNBC reports.
The new rules also provide for exemptions from tariffs for other electronic devices and components, including semiconductors, solar panels, flat TV displays, flash drives, memory cards and drives used for data storage.
Instructions to make exemptions from tariffs appeared after Trump introduced 125% tariffs on products from China, which was supposed to negatively affect technology companies, for example, Apple, which manufactures the iPhone and most of its other products in China.
