US Ambassador to Ukraine resigns – NYT

US Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink is leaving her post and resigning, which could complicate the already "delicate relationship" between Washington and Kyiv. The New York Times reported this on Thursday, April 10.

The US State Department announced the resignation of Ambassador Brink.

"Ambassador Brink is stepping down. She’s been the ambassador there for three years — that’s a long time in a war zone," said State Department spokeswoman Tammy Bruce.

She later confirmed Brink's resignation at a daily press briefing, saying only that "We wish her well," but declined to discuss the matter further.

The publication writes that it is not clear whether the US ambassador to Ukraine resigned voluntarily, whether she was asked to resign by the new Trump administration, or whether it is a combination of both.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on April 6, US Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink responded to the missile strikes by the aggressor country russia on Ukraine, as she wrote, "from Russia."

Also on April 5, Zelenskyy said that he was "unpleasantly surprised" by the US Embassy's reaction to the russian attack on Kryvyi Rih.
