Russian BMP-2 with crew drowned while trying to cross Oskil River in Kharkiv Region
Servicemen of the army of the aggressor country of russia drowned while trying to cross the Oskil River in the east of the Kharkiv Region.
This was reported by the Khortytsia Operational and Strategic Troops Group (OSTG).
The incident occurred in the area of the occupied settlement of Masiutivka (the message of the Khortytsia OSTF mentions Matiusivka, which is probably a typo).
To the west of this settlement flows the Oskil River, on the right bank of which the occupiers previously managed to create a bridgehead.
The russian BMP-2 infantry fighting vehicle tried to cross the river, but for unknown reasons sank. Its crew was killed along with the vehicle.
The russian army is trying to expand bridgeheads on the right bank of the Oskil River
In November 2024, it became known that russian troops were able to cross to the right bank of the Oskil River near the village of Dvorichna, Kharkiv Region.
Since then, the occupiers have managed to create a bridgehead approximately 20 kilometers wide.
And not so long ago, the russians crossed the Oskil to the northeast of Dvorichna, creating two small bridgeheads near the settlements of Krasne Pershe, Kamyanka, and Topoli.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, at the end of March, analysts from the Ukrainian DeepState project spoke about the situation on the right bank of the Oskil River.
