A Tu-22M3 missile bomber of the army of the aggressor country russia crashed in the Irkutsk Oblast of the russian federation on the evening of Wednesday, April 2.
The russian propaganda agency TASS reported this with reference to the russian Ministry of Defense.
"The Tu-22M3 plane crashed in the Irkutsk Oblast. The crew ejected, the pilot died," the message says.
The bomber crashed in a deserted area. According to preliminary information, the cause of the disaster was a technical malfunction.
A search and rescue team arrived at the site of the Tu-22M3 crash and is evacuating the surviving crew members of the plane.
The Governor of the Irkutsk Oblast, Igor Kobzev, reported that the Tu-22M3 bomber crashed near the settlement of Buret of the Usolskiy District.
According to him, the crew of four ejected, but one pilot died during the landing.
Kobzev added that there were no damages or casualties among civilians as a result of the Tu-22M3 crash.
The russian Telegram channel SHOT writes that during the crash, the bomber damaged power lines. Because of this, one of the districts of the Irkutsk Oblast was allegedly left without electricity. This is probably the Usolskiy District.
Videos shot by eyewitnesses of the plane crash appeared on the network. In them, you can see how local residents find multiple wreckage of the bomber.
